More than likely, you know me best as a clinician, and while I enjoy helping people better their relationship with their horses, my true passion is training and competing on world-class performance horses. Working cow horses and cutting horses have been a lifelong passion for me, and I’m excited about the possibility of sharing my love of horses with you. As the owner of one of these talented horses, you will enter a partnership with me that I hope will be a fun venture for you and grow into a valued friendship.
After devoting 20 years to developing Downunder Horsemanship and becoming an internationally recognized clinician, I started focusing on my goal of becoming a world-champion competitor. I am now at the point in my career in which I am focused on finding the most talented horses to train and compete on.
I am connecting with selected individuals who share my passion for the horse as an athlete and want to enjoy the thrills of competing at a world-class level, and I believe you’re the type of partner I could be looking for. The only way I will personally train a horse for someone is if they own one of my performance horses. As the owner of one of these elite horses, you will start a partnership with me in which I will train and compete on your horse, and you will take part in your horse’s daily progress and success at shows. At the end of the journey, you will have a phenomenal horse that’s well-broke, safe, a true pleasure to be around and a horse all your friends will envy. You have worked very hard your whole life to be in a position in which you can reward yourself by owning one of these extremely talented performance horses.

By contacting me and inquiring about the Performance Horse Program, you’ve already taken the first step toward joining an elite group of horsemen and becoming an owner of one of my performance horses.
I encourage you to carefully read through this information to learn the ins and outs of the program and what you may expect from me and what I’ll expect from you. As you’re reading this information, please write down any questions or concerns you may have. Then contact me so we can further discuss your goals as an owner and what you’d like to get out of the experience. At this time, we’ll decide if we’re suited for one another and if owning one of my performance horses is something you want to pursue.
You can expect to purchase a Clinton Anderson Performance Horse for $75,000-$150,000. The price of a horse depends on the individual’s bloodlines, ability and performance record.
Please note that I personally select all of my performance horse prospects. These horses are purchased at national sales and through the help of a renowned equine broker. I will not train a horse purchased elsewhere.
Keep in mind that I am seeking out individuals passionate about horses and those wanting to experience ownership of an elite athlete competing at the top levels of the cow horse and cutting horse industries. My goal is to develop a mutually beneficial partnership with you, so it is important to me that we have the same goals and ambitions. If I feel that the partnership won’t work well, I will choose not to do business with you. And I want you to have the same option about doing business with me.
Once we’ve both agreed that this could be an exciting partnership, I’ll invite you to the Downunder Horsemanship Ranch in Farmington, Arkansas to introduce you to the horses currently in my program. You’ll spend the entire day with me, meeting each of my available prospects, learning about their bloodlines and why I believe each horse has the ability to fulfill your dreams and mine. You’ll get to watch the horses being worked and will be encouraged to ask questions.
When we’ve decided to move forward with our partnership, I will assist you in purchasing your horse.

All valued partnerships share one common ingredient: they each have a great start. In my experience that means both parties are upfront with one another straightaway and are honest with each other and transparent about their goals. It also means that both parties have “skin in the game” or something to lose, which ensures both partners are working hard to reach success and the best possible outcome. If only one partner feels as if they’ve got something to lose, then the partnership becomes lopsided and not mutually beneficial. I do not want that to happen with the two of us, and am taking every precaution to avoid it from happening.
My priority is to make this partnership fun for you. Training and showing cow horses and cutting horses are serious passions of mine. Becoming a world-champion trainer is an endeavor that I am fully committed to and am extremely dedicated to achieving. I love the challenge of selecting the right equine athlete to hone into a world-class performer, fine-tuning my training program to bring out the horse’s best and the thrill of competing on a world stage. Training performance horses isn’t for the faint of heart as the road from the breeding shed to the show ring can be riddled with setbacks and challenges. But when everything falls into place, it’s an incredible sense of accomplishment and worth all the effort in the world.
While I deal with the day-to-day care and challenges of training a top equine athlete, I want owning a performance horse to be fun for you. I do not want this to be something you stress about or lose sleep over; I truly want this experience to be enjoyable and something you look forward to. In fact, I like to tell people to think of owning a performance horse like going to Vegas. When you go to Vegas and gamble, you know there’s a pretty good chance that you’re not going to leave the city a richer man. You could win a lot of money, but probability says there’s a good chance you won’t. You’re really going to Vegas to have fun and for the experience. It’s a way for you to relax and get away from the daily grind and to enjoy life. Look at owning a performance horse in the same way. Could you win a lot of money with your horse? Yes, but more than likely you’re not going to. Rather, this experience is about enjoying the prestige of owning a world-class performance horse. It’s about watching your horse progress in his training, going to futurities and cheering him on, rubbing elbows with other owners and trainers, socializing with a new group of friends, and making memories to last a lifetime.
As the owner of a Clinton Anderson Performance Horse, you’re in an elite group of horsemen as the only way I will personally train someone’s horse is if they purchase one of my performance horses. At the end of your horse’s show career with me, you will have a world-class horse to show yourself or to ride for pleasure and be the envy of your friends. There’s nothing better in the world than to be able to ride a well-broke, good-minded horse that you can relax on and have fun with. And at the end of your journey with me, that’s exactly what you’ll have in your performance horse.
